Engages in a philosophical inquiry into the nature of social and political life. Topics discussed may include: the nature of political liberty; the relation between the individual and larger institutions such as the state; the nature of justice; human rights; the meaning of the individual as a social being; the social aspects of individual identity; and the legitimacy (or lack thereof) of the use of force.
