Catalog description
Investigates conceptions of the person that emerge in a range of different philosophical, cultural and religious traditions. Normally introduces Catholic views on personhood as well as Buddhist conceptions of the self; considers some of the ethical quandaries raised, especially in medical and legal contexts, by an underlying conception of the person; and explores some of the challenges raised to our understanding of personhood by recent scientific and technological advances, including artificial intelligence.
