LAW 7590
Seminar: (When) Equal Protection is Not Enough
Marquette University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
Considers five major challenges that the U.S. faces today: climate change, patriarchy/misogyny, racism, economic inequality, and the struggle for democracy. Through a systems-based lens, the class first examines the root causes of these challenges, and the way law currently constructs and applies to them. Explores possibilities for transformational change—cultural, political, economic, environmental, and legal—that are offered by shifting to a relational frame. The readings are interdisciplinary, underscoring how law affects areas outside of the law.
