“What are your plans for this summer? What are you doing after graduation?” Answering those questions requires us to know how to manage uncertainty, which can be terrifying and freeing. We have so many options ahead of us. Our future is rich with possibility and potential. So, how will you decide? This writing class will help you learn different ways to make decisions related to careers and next steps. Using Ignatian discernment, a 500-year-old tradition for managing uncertainty, you will develop a process that is as unique as you are. Course readings and activities will guide us, with the most important text being you, your life experience, and your willingness to embark on the journey. To approach our career formation with excitement, we need self-awareness, intention, reflection, and commitment to ourselves. This class is designed for students across disciplines who want to dive into their career and personal journeys; no religious practice, tradition, or preference is required.
