Catalog description

Offers insight as to how conversations about writing helps writers and how writing centers promote change. Reveals the challenges and rewards of peer tutoring while studying the theory and practice of peer tutoring. Topics drawn from writing center scholarship include processes of written, oral, and multimodal composition; concepts of genre and situation; and strategies for giving writers effective feedback. Includes a required writing center “internship.” Upon completion, students can apply to become Ott Memorial Writing Center tutors. Consent required.
