Designers and engineers are introduced to database systems. Students learn the full database life cycle with an emphasis on data modeling and design. Topics include introduction to database systems, entity-relationship model and mapping, the relational model, SQL database implementation, functional dependencies and normalization as well as project development based on real-world case studies.
