Catalog description

Provides a comprehensive introduction to oral radiology, covering physics, biology, technology, safety principles of X-ray production and use, and interpretation. Students learn intraoral and panoramic imaging techniques, factors affecting image quality, and common errors, while applying infection control and quality assurance practices. Also introduces digital imaging concepts, radiographic anatomy, and interpretation of caries, periodontal disease, and periapical lesions. Practical instruction on radiographic selection criteria and dental imaging software (Axium and Mipacs) prepares students for accurate, safe and effective radiographic practice.
