Catalog description

Summer session of Dental Rounds continues in a case-based format, building upon material covered during the preceding fall and spring terms. Treatment planning and delivery is evaluated within the context of treatment outcomes, patient and operator safety, and current health care environment. Discusses unintended consequences, near-misses, response and preventive measures. Provides an opportunity for students to analyze and troubleshoot procedural issues from actual cases so they may learn from the actions of other providers to avoid adverse outcomes for their patients. The impact of current events upon clinical dental practice are addressed from a “learn as the lessons are being learned” perspective. Presenters include faculty, residents and guest speakers.
