Catalog description

Major achievements of the Ancient Greeks in literature and art presented in a historical framework. Survey of the architectural remains and masterpieces of Greek sculpture. Frequent visual supplementation of art and architecture. Background readings and discussion on such topics as Greek religious cults, the philosophical schools, pan-Hellenic competitions and the role of the theatre in civic life. Knowledge of Greek not required. Does not count toward the second language requirement.
