Catalog description

This course is the second of a three-semester sequence of courses designed to strengthen, broaden, and enrich the student's background in the content areas associated with elementary school mathematics. Topics included in the second semester are algebra, geometry, measurement, solid shapes, and geometry of motion and change. Wherever possible, manipulatives and hands-on experiences are utilized to demonstrate content. This course requires a co-requisite lab focusing on math pedagogy that allows for additional work with manipulatives, student application of learned concepts, and a clinical experience in an elementary school.
