Catalog description

This course examines the "Age of Revolution" that swept many countries in the Atlantic World between 1750-1850, focusing on the American, French, Haitian, and Latin American Revolutions. We will seek to understand the causes of each revolution, analyze the ideologies that inspired revolutionaries, and consider how historical revolutions continue to shape contemporary politics.
