Math Methods for Elem Classroom

Catalog description
This course is designed for teacher candidates to practice and apply high-impact instructional practices for teaching elementary mathematics. Teacher candidates will deepen their understanding of the scope and sequence of mathematics standards, research-based instructional methods, and assessment strategies designed to support all learners. During clinical field experiences, teacher candidates will implement math instruction using high-quality instructional materials and understand and use K-6 student data to make instructional decisions. This course requires a co-requisite lab focusing on math pedagogy, which allows for additional work with manipulatives and application of learned concepts.
