Integrative Clinical Practice I is the first of a five-course series that integrates entry-level DPT competencies with real-world, clinical tasks performed by physical therapists, considering delivery across patient/client populations, healthcare settings and the lifespan. DPT Learners apply essential knowledge, skills, and behaviors to establish a foundation for entrustment across the Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) of physical therapists. Learners are introduced to the Patient/Client Management Model and the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) model to guide systematic physical therapy practice. Emphasis is placed on patient-centered care through task-based examination and intervention, SMART goal writing, documentation, educating others, and universal safety procedures. Learners integrate foundational principles of biomechanics, kinesiology, and movement science to support evidence-informed and ethical physical therapy practice.
