Catalog description

Systems-Based Practice II is the second in a four-course series in which DPT learners examine the structures, policies, and processes that shape physical therapy practice within the broader healthcare system. DPT learners explore how regulatory and compliance standards, and payer systems shape clinical operations and patient/client access to care. Emphasis is placed on the development of analytical and problem-solving skills to identify system failures, apply quality improvement methods, and propose solutions that enhance safety and efficiency. Learners explore their role and contributions as a physical therapist to the larger healthcare system.
