Catalog description

Professional Identity Formation I is the first in a six-course series introducing DPT learners to the foundations of professional identity formation as transformative leaders in physical therapy. Guided by the Master Adaptive Learner model, in this course learners develop habits of self-reflection, adaptive learning, resilience, and a growth mindset to support professional growth. Learners engage with physical therapist professional standards, scope of practice, and accountability and examine how social determinants of health, cultural humility, and lifestyle behaviors shape well-being and patient outcomes. Learners explore intra-/interprofessional roles to foster respect and collaborative care.
