Page to Stage: Studies in Dramatic Literature and Performance

Catalog description

This course offers students a detailed examination of four plays in the semester through textual and performance analysis. Students will learn how dramatic literature is translated to the stage, analyze thematic choices, style, and content, and determine how these factors together make cohesive theatrical productions and promote intentional as well as unintentional meanings. The course may be repeated for credit since subject matter varies each semester. Enrollment in this course requires attending performances.
