This advanced faculty-led research course prepares occupational therapy doctoral students to navigate the IRB process and begin study implementation. Working in small groups, students develop complete IRB applications, including consent documents, recruitment materials, data management plans, and risk assessments. The course emphasizes research ethics, regulatory compliance, and human subjects protection, while addressing challenges in protocol fidelity and implementation. This experiential learning equips students for independent scholarly inquiry and ethical conduct in occupational therapy research.
