Catalog description

This course focuses on occupational therapy practice with older adults, emphasizing safety, discharge planning, and environmental modifications to support aging in place. Students engage in case studies, hands-on labs, and collaborative exercises to develop clinical reasoning, intervention planning, and therapeutic use of self. Topics include fall risk, caregiver education, assistive technology, and interprofessional collaboration. The course prepares students to create individualized, client-centered plans and advocate for equitable care in geriatric settings.
