This Level I Fieldwork introduces students to community-based occupational therapy practice and population health. Students explore community resources, observe service delivery, and identify barriers to participation. The experience emphasizes applying teaching-learning principles to create and adapt educational activities for a variety of clients and groups, including those with varying learning needs and health literacy levels. Under supervision, students assist in planning and delivering instructional sessions, using appropriate communication and engagement strategies. This fieldwork supports the development of foundational clinical reasoning, professional communication, and readiness for future level II fieldwork experiences.
