Pediatric Intervention Strategies

Catalog description

This course builds on foundational OT principles by examining the developmental, behavioral, and occupational needs of children and youth across a variety of settings. Students apply occupational therapy models, theories, and frames of reference to guide assessment, goal setting, and age- appropriate, developmentally sensitive occupation-based interventions, addressing client factors, performance skills, and environmental adaptations. Learners develop skills in collaborating with clients, caregivers, and interprofessional teams, implementing modifications and assistive technology, promoting safe and meaningful participation, and strengthening professional communication, clinical reasoning, and ethical practice.
