Adult Intervention Strategies

Catalog description

This course prepares students to apply occupation-based intervention strategies for adults by integrating anatomical, physiological, and biomechanical knowledge with therapeutic reasoning and evidence-based practice. Students learn to collaborate with the occupational therapist to design and implement interventions that address performance deficits, promote health and wellness, incorporate therapeutic exercise and preparatory activities, and utilize environmental modifications, assistive technology, and virtual service delivery methods. The course also emphasizes discharge planning, caregiver support, interprofessional collaboration, reimbursement systems, and the application of activity analysis, orthotics/prosthetics knowledge, and re-evaluation processes to guide safe and effective occupational therapy practice.
