Professional Identity Formation I introduces students to the professional roles, values, and responsibilities of the occupational therapy assistant. Emphasis is placed on understanding professional behaviors, ethical standards, and leadership principles that form the foundation of effective practice. Students explore national certification, state licensure, and federal requirements that regulate occupational therapy practice. They also learn how the AOTA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice guide professional conduct and decision-making in healthcare environments.
