Overview of theory and research about various learners, including those with difficulties learning to read. Emphasis on examining the complex factors that shape reading competence. Includes a minimum 5-hour field experience in a 4th-8th grade classroom setting to apply science-based intervention approaches, strategies, and modifications for learners with reading differences.
