Catalog description

Restricted to sophomores and above in good standing Introduction to concepts of culture, health practices and health education from a personal and global perspective through lived experience with an underserved population. Topics include reflection on personal values, human rights to health care, health care provider responsibility to facilitate/provide health care and health education, similarities and differences between cultures within an underserved population and a student’s home community. Course delivery on core concepts and required travel on a medical mission trip.
