Holocaust and Genocide: Religious Perspectives

Prerequisite or Corequisite: PHI 132 A theological and historical study of the Holocaust and contemporary genocide. Within an historical framework that considers the political nature of the Holocaust and other genocides, this course helps students study the theological precursors to the Holocaust and to contemporary genocides, what religious leaders did or did not do during the crises, and what religious people ought to do to prevent future atrocities. Students visit the Jewish Museum in Milwaukee or the Illinois Holocaust Museum as part of the class.
