Puppetry Workshop

Catalog description

This course will provide students with the opportunity to study various types of puppetry including but not limited to Bunraku, shadow puppetry, hand rod, marionette, object manipulation, and more. Students will put puppetry into a global context, learn about the history of puppetry as well as contemporary puppetry artists. Students will work through the full process of creating a puppet from ideation, design and construction, and learn the basics of storytelling techniques to create a short original puppetry performance.
