Baseball and American Society

Catalog description

This course uses the game of baseball as a lens to try to make sense of American society. In addition to tracing the development and spread of baseball, this course situates baseball in American history to understand how the game serves as both a reflection and influence on issues of race, gender, class, immigration, suburbanization, urban planning, capitalism, and identity.
