Advanced Physical Examination

Catalog description

This course provides a foundation for patient assessment and the development of diagnostic skills across the life span for advanced practice nurses. This course is comprised of a 4-hour lecture and has a lab co-requisite, NUR5120L, that requires students to simultaneously complete 60 clinical laboratory hours. This course will emphasize how to utilize physiological, psychological, sociocultural, genetic, and developmental assessment skills across the lifespan. Students will learn how to formulate differential and clinical diagnoses through physical examination and assessment.
