Catalog description

This course prepares students to provide nursing care for the mental health of individuals, families, and groups in a variety of settings. The focus is on the concept of psychiatric mental health and manifestation of mental illness. Using a holistic framework, psychosocial, biophysical, maturational, and cultural influences on mental health and illness are examined. Therapeutic strategies from nursing and other mental health disciplines will be examined.
