Catalog description
Candidates will work with students to learn and apply techniques for assessing the literacy abilities and needs of students, and identifying difficulties that may be confronted in acquiring the literacy skills, including dyslexia. Candidates design effective interventions based on learner needs. Candidates examine and analyze a broad array of formal and informal assessment techniques and their application to literacy instruction. They apply strategies for effectively communicating assessment results to parents, caregivers, and school personnel. Field experience required.
