The concept of power is a multifaceted process that includes forms of economic, political, cultural, and discursive control. This requires a look at various theories of power and its role in ordering societies as well as different methods of acquiring, maintaining, and losing power. Particular attention will be paid to the motivations for power acquisition and the dynamics of resistance to power structures in both theoretical and applied contexts.
