Bioseparations

Catalog description

Bioseparations consists of a sequence of recovery and separations steps that maximize the purity of the bioproducts while minimizing the processing time, yield losses, and costs. Topics include: centrifugation and filtration, extraction, membrane separations, electro-kinetic separations, precipitation, crystallization, and chromatography. Students in this course will be expected to submit a special topic assignment. Pre-requisites: CHML 205 , 207, 208, 209.
