Catalog description

Religion permeates almost all areas of life in India. The subcontinent is the birthplace of four major religious traditions and home to practitioners of almost all the world's religions. This course will introduce the ancient roots and contemporary forms of the religions and philosophies native to India; the major traditions, such as Islam, that have been transplanted there; and the ways these religions and philosophies have influenced cultures around the world.
