An exploration of the sources and consequences of globalization. Is globalization a new phenomenon? Is globalization inevitable and irreversible? Who is in charge of globalization? Does globalization benefit everyone? Does globalization promote or undermine democracy, peace, and social safety nets? What are the effects of globalization on inequality, social justice, and relations between developed and developing countries? These are some of the key issues that will be addressed. Prerequisite: Junior or senior standing. C-5CC, LA-TBI.
