Catalog description
Introduction to the chemical principles of living organisms, emphasizing the structure, function, and dynamics of biomolecules. Topics include the properties of water, lipids, carbohydrates, and nucleic acids; protein structure, enzyme catalysis, and regulation; energy metabolism through degradative and synthetic pathways; and molecular basis of genetic information flow. Prerequisite: CHEM 312; FYWS.
