Catalog description

Provides instruction on the identification and diagnosis of infectious microorganisms in the clinical laboratory, including, disease processes, biochemical reactions, susceptibility testing, and isolation techniques for anaerobes, Gram-positive bacilli, virology, mycobacterium, chlamydia, mycoplasma, spirochetes, mycology, and parasitology. Examines the role of the laboratory in bioterrorism. Lecture: 1 credit (15 contact). Laboratory: 1 credit (30 contact hours).
