Catalog description
Serves as a course in quantitative reasoning and problem solving intended for non-science majors. Includes dimensional analysis with multiple units, finance, population growth, and at least two additional topics chosen from: apportionment, geometry, logic, probability and statistics, graph theory, number theory, game theory, voting methods, and set theory. Note: Students may not receive credit for both this course and MAT 141 or equivalent. Lecture: 3 credits (45 contact hours).

Internet course. Madisonville instructor. Pre-req: ACT math score 18, COMPASS score 31-35 in the Algebra domain, KYOTE MP score 18-21, or successful completion of MAT 065. Co-req: Concurrent enrollment MAT 146S. This course fulfills the quantitative reasoning requirement for AA degrees. This course uses digital content. All course content is accessible through the Blackboard course shell. An optional hard copy text is available at the MCC bookstore.
