Catalog description
Focuses on creating an environment and curricula that support cognitive, physical, creative, language, social, and emotional development of children, birth through age eight. Presents knowledge of appropriate child assessment, ethical decision-making in the early childhood profession and accommodations for children with disabilities. Includes ten (10) hours of required field experiences. Lecture: 3 credits (45 contact hours).

Each student enrolling in this class is required to attend one day a week, complete 10 hours of observation outside the class, complete a criminal background check, a child abuse and neglect check, and have a TB test by the first day of class. This course uses digital content. All content is available through the Blackboard course shell. A digital fee of $51.47 is added to tuition.; Instructional method: INTERNET; BW
