Catalog description

Provides the knowledge base and practical skills necessary to perform special diagnostic studies. Covers fluoroscopic procedures requiring informed consent, aseptic technique, and the administration of various contrast media. Considers the evaluation of optimal diagnostic images. Lecture: 2 credit hours (30 contact hours). Lab: 1 credit (30 contact hours).

Prereq or Coreq: DMI 108 and DMI 118. This is a Hybrid course. Lecture content will be online, and students are required to a 4-hour rotation through the different modalities. You will be scheduled to do these modalities at one of our current clinical sites. This rotation is observational only. Students are not allowed to scan or position patients during this time. You will be provided with a schedule at the start of class. The class will meet in person on August 20, 2026, at 9:00 am and again on December 3, 2026, at 9:00 am. Final papers will be due on December 3, 2026 by 3 p.m. No late paper will be accepted.; Instructional method: OTHER; HB
