Catalog description

Presents medical technology management principles and practices with regard to ongoing training of staff, ongoing medical equipment maintenance, ongoing risk management, and ongoing quality assurance necessary to assure that equipment is safe and adequately maintained. Focuses on record keeping and compliance with codes, standards, and regulations. Lecture: 1.5 credits (22.5 contact hours); Laboratory: 0.5 credits (15 contact hours).

Prereq: BTS 130 with a grade of C or better. This course is open to both non-EOA and EOA BTS program students. Online coursework is supplemented with either five on-campus lab sessions (as a non-EOA student) or equivalent use-of-time within a hospital environment (as an EOA student)..
