Basic Electrical Knowledge

Introduces fundamentals of AC and DC electrical circuits. Provides introductory theory and application of series, parallel, and combination AC and DC circuits. Introduces circuit analysis utilizing Ohm's Law and a digital multimeter. Lecture: 1 credit (15 contact hours). Laboratory: 1 credit (30 contact hours).

Class orientation will be held at the Muhlenberg County Campus in the Shaver Building in room 109 (SEC 109). Remaining classes will be held at the West Kentucky Regional Technical Training Center campus in Muhlenberg County, KY. Hybrid course that meets approximately 50% of the meetings on site and 50% online. Class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays. First bi-term course. Pre-req: Reading and Mathematics assessment exam scores above KCTCS developmental placement level or successful completion of prescribed developmental courses or permission from instructor.
