Catalog description

This course is a continuation of MUS 20: continued technical development of basic 5-finger patterns to include all major and minor keys; simple chord progressions in all keys; continuation of music-reading skills and music theory study that was begun in MUS 20. Progressively advancing solo and ensemble work. Baroque, classical, romantic, 20th century, and world music literature as appropriate to the students’ development level will be assigned. This is an entry-level class for the music major or general student who has had 1-2 years of previous piano instruction. ADVISORY: ENGL C1000 or ENGL C1000H. PREREQUISITES: MUS 20 or the equivalent skill level. (A, CSU, UC) (C-ID MUS 170)
