Catalog description

This course is the supervised field experience portion of the Social Work and Human Services Seminar. Students will be working in a community organization, agency, or institution, allowing the student to apply knowledge and learn new skills outside the classroom environment. This course is designed to provide the student with an opportunity to serve, practice, and develop skills that would facilitate gaining employment in the human services field. PREREQUISITES: HS-20 Introduction to Social Welfare AND HS-24 Fundamentals of Interviewing and Counseling COREQUISITES: HS-9 Social Work and Human Services Seminar. LIMITATIONS ON ENROLLMENT: Students will need to meet with the Human Services Program Coordinator the semester prior to taking the course to obtain registration approval.
