Catalog description

This class is an interdisciplinary study of race, ethnicity, and racism in the United States. This course will take a comparative approach covering Native Americans, African Americans, U.S. Latinx, Arab Americans, Asian Americans, Euro-Americans, and Multiracial Americans. The course will examine key topics such as racial discrimination, immigration, economics, labor, political conditions, cultural expression and resistance, social justice movements, racial and ethnic identity, and gender and sexuality. ADVISORIES: English C1000 or C1000H. ANTI-REQUISITE: SOC-2. (A, Cal-GETC, CSU, UC) (C-ID SOCI 150)
