Catalog description

This course is an introduction to the engineering profession for students interested in a career in engineering or technology. Topics include the branches of engineering, the functions of an engineer, and the industries in which engineers work. Students will also investigate engineering education pathways and explore effective strategies for reaching their full academic potential. Other topics include an introduction to the methods and tools of engineering problem solving and design, preparing resumes for engineering employment, the interface of the engineer with society, and engineering ethics. Hands-on projects are used extensively in the course. ADVISORY: English C1000 or C1000H and Elementary Algebra or Equivalent. (A, CSU, UC) (C-ID ENGR 110)
