Catalog description

This course introduces students to a wide range of American authors and their relationship to major literary and intellectual movements from the second half of the nineteenth century to the present, which will include analysis and study of fiction, drama, poetry, non-fiction, film, advertising, and ephemera of the United States from the Reconstruction to present day. PREREQUISITES: English C1000 or C1000H. (A, Cal-GETC, CSU, UC, I) (C-ID ENGL 135)
