Field Studies Seminar – Internship

Catalog description
This course offers the student a supervised field experience in a community organization, agency, or institution. The practicum provides students with direct learning experiences in substance use disorder treatment settings. It is designed to provide the student with an opportunity to develop skills that would facilitate gaining employment in the addiction or human services field. SPECIAL NOTE: Students will sign the CATC code of ethics and will be evaluated by facility supervisors. A minimum of 250 hours of internship is required for the field studies program. Students must fully complete the field studies course regardless of prior experience. This ensures that the students have been properly exposed to the eight TAP 21 competency areas. PREREQUISITE: ADS-1, ADS-2, ADS-7, ADS-8, ADS-9, HS-20, and HS-24 COREQUISITE: ADS-10 ADVISORIES: ADS-3, ADS-4, ADS-5, ADS-6, and ENGL-C1000 or ENGL-C1000H (A, CSU)
