Presents the general theory of education as applied to the teaching of social studies. Consideration is given to the selection and organization of content, as well as the methods and the techniques associated with national and state standards for social studies instruction. <i>One of the methods courses is required for secondary school teachers by the Maryland State Department of Education.</i>
