Catalog description
Focuses on the historical, sociopolitical, and philosophical trajectory of education and schooling in the United States. This course also offers the opportunity to consider these trajectories in the context of current schools and classrooms. Students question long-held beliefs about education and schooling; create a vision of themselves as professional educators; and develop and analyze ideas about education, schooling, its key players, and major stakeholders. <i>A 20-hour field experience in a school setting is required.</i>
