Crime Fiction in Spain

Catalog description

Since the 1970's, many Spanish authors have turned to the crime novel as a vehicle for chronicling the social and political evolution of the country. This course provides an introduction to how some of the genre's most important works have addressed such issues as the growth of major cities, urban crime, and corruption in all of its forms. Authors studied include Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, Andreu Martín, Lorenzo Silva, and Alicia Giménez Bartlett, among others. <i>CU/ICL</i>
